THE vendor in Kabankalan City who caught fire after a man poured gasoline on him died at a hospital on Wednesday evening.
Superintendent Rhea Santos, chief of Kabankalan City Police Station, said Clarencio Bernabe, 21, died at about 8 p.m. after he suffered severe burns.
On September 20, Bernabe was cooking chicken in his mobile stall at the public market when Ryan Dolar, 20, poured gasoline on his back.
Santos said Dolar may face murder charges instead of serious physical injuries after Bernabe expired due to third degree burns.
The police cannot still establish the suspect’s motive because Dolar is uncooperative in the investigation, Santos said.
Dolar is still confined at the hospital after he sustained minor burns.
