EVERYONE is festive this time of the year. Even athletes and exercise buffs are not exempted with the yummy treats that are offered on the table, and it gives them the sense of guilt not to give-in and to give-in, and a bigger percentage would not have that fortitude to resist the temptation of food.
Experts says you do not need to, as long as you do not resort to gluttony. As an athlete, your motivation of not getting over your limit is the hard work and sacrifices you already have invested, only to be compromised by complete loss of discipline. The guilt is a good thing that borders your limit and reminds you that while you are not forbidden to eat, you are limited to just enough.
We have to remember that food is not an enemy, it is actually an ally that provides nutrition, but just like any ally, when it is too much, makes more harm than good. So while on vacation and with family enjoying the holidays, any food should not be hoarded, and should be shared by everybody.
Exercise buffs are also reminded specially those who are self-learned and self-trained that there is danger in exercising too much to compensate the amount of food intake for the holidays. Many resort to rigorous exercising to compensate with their eat all you can parties, which is a big mistake causing their body to be in pain and their metabolic system to malfunction. You cannot force the human body to grind all your food intake in an instant, nor you can work out rigorously in advance thinking that it gives you the green light to eat as much as you want.
Holidays especially in the Philippines are challenging times for athletes and exercise aficionados one thing that should not be forgotten is the virtue of discipline and it shall have less negative effect to us.
Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!!!!
