BACOLOD City Permits and Licensing Division head Stela Rose Rayos on Tuesday urged barangay officials to send their representatives to the one-stop-shop for business permits processing at the Bacolod Government Center.
“The cooperation of barangay officials is very important for the convenience of the business permits applicants to secure a barangay clearance,” Rayos said.
The one-stop-shop started Tueday and out of the 61 barangays in Bacolod City, only 10 barangays deployed their staff. These are Barangays 34, 35, Bata, Alangilan, Vista Alegre, Taculing, Handumanan, Banago, and Pahanocoy.
Personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Health Insurance Corp., and Bureau of Internal Revenue have also set up their respective desks.
Rayos said that last year, Mayor Evelio Leonardia had issued a memorandum to all barangay heads to cooperate in this year’s one-stop-shop business processing to complete the permits renewals in one day and new applications in only two days.
The business permit will be released in one or two days upon the submission of complete required documents, she added.
The one-stop-shop business processing will run from January 3 to 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with no noon break.
The standard steps in the processing of business permit have been reduced to only three from the previous five as follows:
Step 1. File application at the Permits and Licensing Division Office.
Step 2. One-time assessment of taxes, fees, and charges, and Step 3. One-time payment of taxes, fees, and charges, receipt of official receipt, and claim mayor’s permit, and other regulatory permits and clearances.
Applicants may also download the application form at @bacolodcity.gov.ph/bacolod_city.htm.
Rayos said those who will pay in full can avail of the 10 percent discount on business tax.
Last year, the Permits and Licensing Division received about 25,000 business applicants, and they are hopeful that this year, the applicants will increase, she added.
