ARCHER Charmaine Angela Villamor continues to hit her mark after scoring two more gold medals while taekwondo jins bagged six gold medals as Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association surge to third place in the ongoing Palarong Pambansa.
Cordillera athletes are on course of breaking their ninth place finish last year as it already surpassed its medal haul with 13 gold medals, eight silvers and seven bronze.
Villamor, after winning the 40 meter gold medal on Tuesday bagged the 50 and 60 meter gold in secondary girls, earning three gold in the ongoing national sports meet for elementary and secondary students in Antique.
Elementary taekwondo jins proved they remain the team to watch as Gabriel Yvan Inacay scored a gold in the poomsae event while the trio of Joshua Aaron Erece, Mozart Ryhme Adviento and Adrian Paul Yadao won the group contest with Inacay teaming up with Khyla Kreanzzel Guinto to snatch the gold in the mixed pair event.
In the elementary girls division, Rain Ramon took home a gold in the poomsae event while the trio of Kyle Dreyshanne Bulwayan, Kamille Faith Revelina Calycay and Rain Ramon bagged the group contest.
Laeia Simoune Soria, Chelsea Xen Tacay, and Jessa Tumlayen meanwhile bagged a gold medal in the poomsae secondary while Tacay and Angel Louise Dy took home silver in the poomsae individual category as Justin Cyrus de Guzman, Khristian Daniel Mamitag and Gabriel Salaknib Soria also won a bronze medal in the poomsae secondary boys group contest.
Wrestlers also made good account for the region’s surge in the medal standing with three more silvers courtesy of Ellieson Langaden, Jessalyn Angaga and Arselyn Battatong.
Arnis added two more silver medals courtesy of Elmer Manlapas winning in the anyo individual event double weapon and the trio of Shanna Ruzzel Longan, Angelyn Datuin, and Cristine Mae Bartolome while Maritoni Domogen, Gyzel Garambas, and Yliz Angela Oslo tucked in a bronze in the anyo team event - double identical weapon as Garambas also scored a bronze in the anyo event - individual single weapon.
