Villar, the wealthiest Cabinet member, is the lone billionaire with a net worth of P1,409,149,497. Based on his SALN, he has a total of P1,423,674,972 assets and P14,525,475 liabilities, as of December 2016.
On the other hand, Mariano, a left-leaning Cabinet official, is a non-millionaire obtaining only a net worth of P273,629.58 without liabilities.
Among the poorest Cabinet members was National Anti-Poverty Commission Secretary Liza Maza, with a net worth of P730,716. Maza has P3.78 million assets and P3,049,284 liabilities.
Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III is ranked second wealthiest Cabinet official, with a net worth of P351,859,283. He is followed by Information and Communications Technology Secretary Rodulfo Salalima (P304,961,439.91), Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade (P301,999,204), and former Environment Secretary Gina Lopez (P266,468,642.96).
Summing up the Top 10 list of richest Cabinet members are Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi (P162,701, 642), Communications Secretary Martin Andanar (P152,272,523.19), SocioEconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia (P105,431,605.52), Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano (P54,737,374), and Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez (P50.5 million).
