DAVAO City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte praises both Senator Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire for the outcome of their championship fights held at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas last Saturday evening (Sunday in the Philippines).

In a statement issued through the City Information Office (CIO), Duterte lauded Pacman who won as the new WBO welterweight champion.

“Congratulations to Senator Manny Pacquiao on his victory over Jessie Vargas. It was a fight and a triumph that once again showed the tenacity of a Filipino fighting not only for himself but for the entire country,” the Presidential son said.

He also added that this win shall become another source of pride and inspiration for all Filipinos.

The vice mayor also congratulated Donaire despite losing his WBO Super Bantamweight title to challenger Mexican American boxer Jessie Magdaleno.

“Let me also congratulate another Filipino fighter, Nonito Donaire, who was a picture of grace despite his humbling loss to Magdaleno.
