A 41-YEAR-OLD truck driver and his 34-year-old lover were arrested after they were caught by the former's wife sleeping together in Barangay Doldol, Dumanjug, Cebu, at 2:10 a.m. Sunday, July 30.
Police Officer 3 Irish Buena, the Women and Children's Protection Desk chief, said the driver's 40-year-old wife decided not to file charges against them.
"Ang mga bata nanghangyo nga dili paylan og kaso ilang amahan (Their children appealed that charges will not be filed against their father)," Buena said.
"Naluoy ang inahan sa iyang mga bata (The mother pitied their children)," Buena added.
The driver has three sons with his wife.
Buena said they cannot release the driver as he will be charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, as the arresting police officers seized a .45 pistol, magazine, five bullets, and a silencer from him.
The driver's lover will be released, Buena added.
Before the arrest happened, the wife got home in Barili from work in Lapu-Lapu City on Saturday night, July 29. She looked for her husband, but he was not around.
The wife, who caught her husband accompanying the woman last year, thought that he was with his lover again. She went straight to the woman's house in Barangay Doldol and found the driver's motorcycle parked outside.
The wife reported to the police station, barged inside the woman's house with the policemen, and found the two sleeping in bed. (VoxPop Cebu)
