ZAMBOANGA City Government turned over 200-horse power speedboat to the Task Force Zamboanga (TFZ) to ensure the protection of the coastline of the city.

Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar Thursday, January 5, provided the equipment worth 1.5 million to boost to the military’s TFZ in terms of mobilization.

Salazar said the speedboat is intended to help the TFZ patrol and monitor the coastline of Zamboanga City to prevent potential incidents of terrorism and seajacking.

The TFZ, a composite unit, is the military’s maneuver and security force for the city.

The task force, which is based in Camp General Arturo Enrile, Malagutay, Zamboanga City, is under the operational control of the Army’s First Infantry Division.

Salazar said the provision of the speedboat is part of the local government’s continued support to its security forces. (Sunnex)
