DISASTER preparedness is very crucial for all stakeholders as disasters, man-made or natural, may strike anytime and anywhere, said Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar.
Salazar made the statement before the participants of the five-day Summit and Training Exercise Simulating Mass Casualty Incidents (MCIs).
The MCIs is set to culminate on Friday, July 21. It was organized by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) in line with the city’s disaster preparedness program.
Salazar said the best way to mitigate the potential impact of a mass casualty incident is to be ready, resilient and prepared.
She said the City Government paves the way to help all agencies and offices–-government and non-government--to prepare for overwhelming situations as a result of the number of victims and the severity of the casualties involved in the incident.
