THE Zamboanga City Health Office has sent a health team to Marawi City to assist in the medical needs of families displaced by the crisis in the city.
The Zamboanga health team together with personnel from the Department of Health (DOH) office in Zamboanga Peninsula left for Marawi July 25 and will serve in the area in coordination with the Marawi City local government until August 2, according to City Health Officer Rodelin Agbulos.
rAgbulos said the team consists of doctors, nurses, social workers, and sanitary inspectors and is tasked to assist the Marawi City Government in providing medical attention to evacuees currently housed in evacuation centers in Marawi and the neighboring provinces.
Earlier, the City Government sent relief goods consisting of 300 sacks of rice, noodles, and sardines for the siege victims through the Philippine Navy and the Western Mindanao Command.
The city is also assisting Marawi evacuees who are staying with their relatives in villages of Talon-Talon, Tumaga, and Sta. Maria in this city. (Bong Garcia/VoxPop Philippines)
