THE Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (Zamcelco) announced that there will be no more half-day work effective September 16, 2017 and every Saturday thereafter.
Zamcelco information officer Ferdinand Rodriguez said that the official working days of Zamcelco employees shall be from Monday to Friday only with total number of working hours not less than 40 hours per week as required under the Labor Code.
Rodriguez said this is pursuant to Zamcelco Board Resolution 84 series of 2017 dated June 22, 2017 entitled “Resolution approving the working days of Zamcelco employees from Monday to Friday only and without overtime pay on Saturday and Sunday” which was duly approved per NEA action dated August 7, 2017.
However, he said that in order not to disrupt our service to the member consumer-owners during Saturdays and holidays, the Technical Department is mandated to maintain standby troubleshooters and substation tenders in their respective areas of responsibility to immediately respond to the consumers’ complaints in case of emergency.
In addition, he said if due date falls on a Saturday, there shall be standby tellers to collect, receive payment of electric bills.
