THE Cleveland Cavaliers won two games in a row after beating the Washington Wizards.
The Cavaliers managed to stop a late collapse against the Wizards with the score of 116-113. After having the worst record for the season, they managed to win back-to-back games this season.
They were able to hold out the victory thanks to Cavs forward Cedi Osman's performance of 25 points, 14 of them coming in the third quarter.
Cavaliers guard Jordan Clarkson also helped in this endeavor, posting 28 points with a shooting percentage of 10-15 from the field and 6-8 shots from the three-point line.
The Cavaliers were playing without their stars, Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson, due to their injuries. The Cavs were mostly relying on their young talents to pull-off a win.
Meanwhile, the Wizards were able to lean on their guard Bradley Beal who posted 31 points, altogether with guard Jordan McCrae's 15 point scoring and forward Trevor Ariza's 13 points. The Wizards was still without their all-star point guard John Wall.
During the three quarters, the Wizards were leading the game. This game was reminiscent of Tuesday's game against the Bulls. However, the Cavaliers were able to chip away at lead using smart plays and playing a tight defense from the perimeter in the fourth quarter.
The Cavaliers were outpowered with the Wizards leading 107-86 in the fourth quarter with 5:03 minutes left in the game. Then, the Cavaliers sparked a 19-4 run with the score of 109-99.
With 35.1 seconds to go, the Cavaliers try to fend off the Wizards with the lead of 115-108. Wizards guard Jordan McCrae hits a three point shot to make the score 115-111.
There was only 11.1 seconds left with the score of 116-113 after the free throws from McCrae and Clarkson. The Wizards inbound the ball and it gets stolen by Osman. He, then, does an outlet pass to forward Larry Nance to run out the clock. (Jayvee Gulfan, USC Intern)
