FIFTEEN villages in Macabebe and Masantol towns are currently submerged in up to four feet of flood waters caused by the southwest monsoon rains enhanced by the high tide.
In Macabebe town, Barangay Castuli is submerged in four feet of water while Barangays Castuli and San Francisco are under three feet of flood waters. Caduang Tete and part of Telacsan have about two feet of flood waters, and Sta. Rita and San Rafael villages are flooded by about one foot, based on the report of the Pampanga Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) released yesterday noon.
The villages of Alauli, Bagang, Balibago, Nigui, Sagrada, Sapang Kawayan — all in the left bank portion of Pampanga River — as well as San Agustin and Sta. Monica Caingin are also experiencing about one foot of flood water, the report added.
Meanwhile, the wall of a resort in Barangay Mancantian in Porac town reportedly collapsed Friday morning and caused about three to four feet of flood waters in the said area, affecting 20 houses and displacing some 37 families.
The affected families were evacuated to Jose Songco Lapid Sports and Civic in the said town, while the local disaster risk reduction and management office is looking for possible water outlets to release the contained water from the said resort, the PDDRMO report stated.
The report also noted that all dam and river status in the province are at normal level, while all road networks are also passable to all types of vehicles as of Friday noon.
