AT LEAST nine of the coronavirus infections in the City of San Fernando have been classified as health facility infection highlighting that frontliners have to face in bringing much needed care to those infected and confined to hospital care.
According to an advisory of the City Government, at least four of these health facility infected persons have already recovered.
Such is also the case with health providers in Pampanga's second district. Three nurses and two doctors have been infected by the dreaded coronavirus while handling positive cases in Pampanga.
Three nurses from Guagua town have been among the recorded cases. In a briefer released by the Municipal Government of Guagua, one of the nurses who tested positive works at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital (JBLMRH). The nurse has been classified as a recovered patient after twice testing negative and is now undergoing a 14-day quarantine.
The second nurse from Guagua town is reportedly a nurse of the Department of Health and may have contracted the virus after interacting with two doctors who have tested positive. Another nurse who tested positive also works at the JBLMRH and is currently confine in the said institution. Seven of the nurse's close contacts are also under quarantine.
At least two doctors, one from Guagua and another from Barangay Pias in Porac Pampanga have also contracted the virus after working with positive patients at a treatment hospital in the City of San Fernando.
