ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. has urged entertainment establishments at Fields Avenue to provide conducive quarters for their staff.
The mayor told the bar owners to improve their respective facilities during a recent inspection of the city's entertainment district.
Lazatin ordered for a series of clearing operations at the red light district including the checking of business permits and the health cards of entertainers.
Sidewalk obstructions like ambulant vendors were also removed by the city government inspection team.
Lazatin's directive to the club owners and managers was relayed through a letter sent by Environmental Health Services (EHS) Chief Allan Cunanan dated August 1, 2019.
The EHS observed that the "quarters, dressing rooms, or holding rooms the clubs provide for their staff are poor in terms of sanitary condition."
The law imposes certain standards and mandates business establishments to provide for a safe and sanitary quarters for the welfare of its employees, the city officials said.
The local government initiated its inspection and clearing operations at Field's Avenue.
Earlier this week, three Korean restaurants were found to have violated sanitation regulations.
