ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. has renewed his appeal to his constituents in observing quarantine protocols to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the city.
The mayor issued his statement after the city's Covid-19 cases increased to 15 as of May 1.
The four new cases came from barangays San Jose, Cutcut, Ninoy Aquino, and Lourdes North West, according to Lazatin.
The patients are currently admitted in different medical centers in the city, the mayor added.
The City Government conducted contact tracing and disinfection of the patients' respective residences, Lazatin said.
"Patuloy ko pong hinihingi ang inyong kooperasyon at pakikiisa na sumunod sa regulasyon ng pamahalaan nang hindi na po madagdagan ang positive case natin," the local chief executive said.
"Pakiusap po, huwag na pong matigas ang ulo, huwag din po tayong maniwala sa hindi opisyal na announcement at mga posts na hindi naman po verified."
Lazatin said the City Government is transparent and is doing everything to ensure the safety of the people.
On April 29, the mayor said the LGU started distributing the second wave of relief goods to support the people during the remaining days of the lockdown.
"Nagre-ready po tayo ng 150,000 food packs para sa ating house to house distribution. Lahat po ng pamilya na naninirahan dito sa Angeles ay mabibigyan. Hintayin niyo lang po na ihatid namin mismo sa inyong kabahayan," Lazatin said.
The mayor said he allotted P110 million for food assistance to the Angeleños.
Of the 15 individuals who tested positive of Covid-19 cases, the local government said two had died, ten are currently admitted and three had recovered.
Aside from these, the City Health Office has recorded 40 probable and 21 suspected cases who are currently admitted in different hospitals in the city.
