ANGELES CITY-- The city police confiscated P1.2 million worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine) during an anti-drug operation in the city's entertainment district in Barangay Balibago.
The illegal drugs were seized from suspected drug peddler Loren Benito Laguiwan, 31, of Saint Francis, Pandayan, Meycauyan, Bulacan.
The suspect was arrested and charged with drug pushing and possession by the city police.
Police Captain Elaine Villasis, public information officer of the city police, stated that a police agent was able to buy a plastic of drugs weighing 100 grams from Laguiwan.
The suspect yielded another plastic containing suspected shabu weighing 100 grams after policemen accosted her.
"When subjected to bodily search, another transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 100 grams was found in her physical possession and control. The confiscated illegal drugs weigh more or less 200 grams with an estimated street value of P1.2 million," Villasis said.
Onsite inventory of the confiscated drugs was conducted in the presence of barangay officials, media men, and Department of Justice representatives, according to the police officer.
Villasis said Laguiwan was listed as one of the high-value targets of the Philippine National Police.
