SOME 700 residents in Angeles City's upland Aeta village received food packages from the City Government.
Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. personally distributed the food packs to the indigenous people living in Sitios Target, Babo and Bliss all in Barangay Sapangbato.
Lazatin said the project is in line with the celebration of the Indigenous Peoples Month.
The city's Gender and Development (GAD), headed by Mina Cabiles, organized the food pack distribution.
Lazatin said the local government has continued to provide support to the residents in the city in terms of relief goods to cushion the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The City Health Office recorded 783 total number of Covid-19 cases as of October 6, with 33 deaths, and 478 recoveries.
Lazatin said there are 272 active cases as of October 6.
The mayor reminded his constituents to postpone gatherings and practice social distancing and wear face covers when going out of the house.
