THE Angeles City Government is set to reestablish its quarantine checkpoints to stop the increase in the number of persons infected by the novel coronavirus.
This was gleaned in Resolution 02, Series of 2020 issued by the Angeles City Task Force on Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases (Erid) on July 21, 2020.
As of July 16, the task force stated that the local government recorded nine active cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and five of the patients had a travel history outside the city.
On July 21, the task force said a private hospital has accepted two Covid-19 patients who are non-residents of Angeles without prior coordination with the City Government.
With the city's situation, the task force recommended that checkpoints in all entry and exit points of Angeles City, as well as barangay checkpoints, shall be reestablished.
Only authorized persons outside residence (Apors) and persons traveling on official business will be allowed entry into the city, the same resolution stated.
"Non-Apor individuals coming from outside the province of Pampanga shall not be allowed entry into Angeles City," the task force stated.
Residents of Angeles City who are working outside Pampanga are advised to stay in their respective places of employment during the duration of the community quarantine. They may be allowed to return to the city provided that they have tested negative for coronavirus through RT-PCR testing prior to their entry.
Passengers arriving at Clark International Airport should have tested negative of the virus through RT-PCR test before entering the city, the task force added.
The City Government will also implement the face mask policy and monitor minors loitering in the streets.
In line with the enforcement of the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), social gatherings like parties, especially in public establishments are prohibited.
The resolution was signed by Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr., chairman of the task force, and Dr. Verona Guevarra, officer-in-charge of the City Health Office and Erid co-chair.
