BALANGA CITY, Bataan -- No child should be in jail or be a victim of trafficking.
This was stressed by Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office Program Division Chief Cristina Lopez during a recent seminar on child welfare laws held at Lou-Is Restaurant in Balanga City.
Lopez emphasized that the Provincial Council for the Welfare of Children (PCWC) is continuously strengthening its initiatives for the safety and protection of children in Bataan.
"When it comes to matters regarding children, our good practices are shared among every municipality in the province wherein each have established strong relationship," she said to members of city and municipal councils for the protection of children.
"We also provide technical support such as renovations and construction of child development centers in the province," she added.
Lopez added that Bataan eyes to eradicate or lessen all forms of abuse on women and children by harmonizing concerned inter-agencies and partnering with other civil society organizations.
Among the topics discussed in the seminar were anti-child labor law, anti-bullying act, and the process and procedures in filing cases concerning children.
For their part, members of each city and municipal councils pledged to strengthen their policies on child welfare in their respective community. (PIA)
