Bataan student wins food poster contest

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- A student from Bataan, Allen Buenvinida, won in this year's World Food Day 2019 (WFD) on-the-spot poster making contest.

Buenvinida is a Grade VI student of Antonio G. Llamas Elementary School in Mariveles, Bataan.

The contest was held on October 15 at the RED Hotel Cubao, Quezon City.

It was one of the highlights of the WFD celebration in coordination of the Department of Agriculture, Food Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and Department of Education (DepEd) that involves elementary pupils Grade IV-VI enrolled in any public and DepEd accredited private elementary schools.

With the theme "Our actions are our future. Healthy diets for a #ZeroHunger world," a total of 16 contestants from the different regions of the country competed in the contest.

Together with his coach Ressie Landringan, Buenvinida received P20,000 cash prize and a trophy.
