MAYOR Edwin Santiago of the City of San Fernando announced during his recent state of the city address at the LausGroup Event Centre that this capital city is set to invest P1.2 billion for the establishment of a civic center.
Santiago reported that some P236 million has already been allocated for funding.
He added that some of the projects have already been started like the command and control center, youth development center, multipurpose center, central evacuation center, Department of Education training center, special drug education center and the technical vocational school.
Santiago also said that the first public park in the city will be built in the city civic center.
He added that the center, through its facilities, will help monitor highly critical areas in terms of crime, traffic and flooding. The command and control center, he said, will have a video monitoring room and an information technology enabled warning system.
"Will also have a plan to turn the old city transfer station into an ecopark," Santiago said, emphasizing that his administration stresses the need for environmental preservation and conservation.
