ANGELES CITY -- Councilor Carmelo Lazatin said his father, former Pampanga Congressman and City Mayor Carmelo Tarzan Lazatin is not sick contrary to "rumors" spreading around the city.
The young Lazatin belied reports that his father was confined in the hospital after suffering from an ailment.
The older Lazatin was elected chairman of chairman of Barangay Balibago in the recent post.
He defeated in the chairmanship race Tess Mamac, the wife of outgoing Balibago Chairman Tony Mamac, who emerged as number one councilman.
The city councilor at the same time denied reports that his father is eyeing the Liga Ng mga Barangay presidency and an ex-officio seat in the city council.
Mamac asked his constituents to stop spreading or entertaining what he described as fake news about Lazatin's health.
Tarzan will be turning 84 this coming May 28.
