WORKERS who lost their livelihood due to the ongoing pandemic recently received assistance from the local government of Apalit.
Mayor Oscar Tetangco Jr. said they allocated a total of P1,440,000 for the livelihood assistance to 144 displaced employees from the town.
"We may not be able to give back the jobs they lost, but we gave that an alternative livelihood which, we hope, can provide for their and their families needs," he said.
Among the livelihood packages that were awarded to the beneficiaries were for sari-sari store, sabon station, mini laundry services, and bakes and pastries.
Tetangco asked recipients to share their blessings to other family members or friends who also need assistance.
"We do not ask anything in return but to pay it forward. We hope you will be able to sustain and develop your livelihood so you can also help other people," he said.
