CLARK FREEPORT -- Transportation Secretary Arthur P. Tugade has reiterated his vow to uphold the freedom of information (FOI).
The Department of Transportation (DoTr) chief stressed that the Filipino people deserves a transparent government.
"I believe in full transparency in government service, by upholding the right of the citizenry to freedom of information and full disclosure on matters of public concern," Tugade stated.
The agency said that this is the Pledge of Integrity that every member of DOTr, from Tugade himself down the line, has sworn to uphold.
DOTr officials and personnel assured that they fully support the thrust of the Duterte administration to empower the citizenry with the FOI that primarily champions transparency, accountability, and good governance.
In the last four years, the DOTr has been recognized as one of the top performings and most requested executive department in the FOI recognition program.
As of August 18, 2021, DOTr has processed 1,450 out of the 1,459 eFOI requests.
Meanwhile, nine requests are subject to immediate action or needing additional information.
