After almost four hours of alternate song and dance performances, the best groups which emerged as winners in the dance contest were Xtrm Limit Dance Crew as champion, MVD Dance Crew as first runner-up and Tribung Kapampangan as second runner-up.
Meanwhile, Mark Reyes of Apalit was awarded as champion for the singing competition. His co-winners were Stanley Sayco of Barangay Dolores and Jericho Dela Cruz of Barangay San Jose who landed first and second runners-up, respectively.
Winners in both categories received P20,000 each for the champions, P10,000 each for the first runners-up and P5,000 each for the second runners-up.
In an interview, Mayor Edwin Santiago said the City Government and the executive committee seek to revive the colorful and lively fiesta tradition that also flaunts the great talents of Fernandinos and Kapampangans.
He said that this also served as a gathering of Fernandinos from different villages and residents from neighboring towns thus introduces new acquaintances especially to the youth.
"The annual Pyestang Fernandino is a form of thanksgiving for the city's bountiful harvest. It is a significant event because it nurtures the history and culture and illustrates Filipino hospitality," Santiago added.
