NATIONAL Task Force Chief Implementer Carlito Galvez Jr. visited Thursday, April 16, the We Heal As One Centers in Clark which are now ready to receive coronavirus disease patients with mild or no symptoms.
The sites include the ASEAN Convention Center here which has 150 beds and the National Government Administrative Center in New Clark City (NCC), Tarlac which initially has 400 beds but will be expanded up to 1,000.
He thanked the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and the Provincial Governments of Pampanga and Tarlac for their support.
"These are now operational. I'd like to thank BCDA for offering these facilities. More or less we have new quarantine facility hospitals which are very accommodating and very comfortable. We're very thankful that the governors of Pampanga and Tarlac are very aggressive and proactive in looking after the safety of their constituents," he said.
BCDA president Vince Dizon thanked the officials and volunteers who helped in the transformation of the facilities into quarantine and treatment areas.
"Nagpapasalamat po tayo sa ating mga governors at mga mayors kasi hindi magiging posible 'yong pag-gather ng mga volunteers kung hindi natin makukuha ang suporta ng mga LGUs at saka 'yong ating mga probinsiya. Bayanihan...Wala nang private, public, government. Wala nang gano'n ngayon. Lahat tayo Pilipino, sama-sama tayo (We thank our governors and mayors because the call for volunteers will not be possible without the support of the local government units. Bayanihan. No more private, public, government. All of us are Filipinos, we are in this together)," Dizon said.
After visiting the facilities, Galvez had a meeting with officials of Department of Health, BCDA, Clark Development Corporation, Clark International Airport Corporation and LGUs of Pampanga and Tarlac at NCC.
Local leaders present during the event were Tarlac Second District Representative Victor Yap, Tarlac Governor Susan Yap, Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda, Porac Mayor Jaime Capil, Capas Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr., Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo and Bamban Mayor Jose Antonio Feliciano.
