THE University of the Assumption (UA)'s official student publication, Regina, held its annual general assembly at the UA liturgy room recently.
The general assembly was conducted to officially welcome the new members of the publication and to discuss the ethics in journalism and the Campus Journalist Act of 1991, which are very essential.
Incoming moderator Daphne Tadeo and incoming creative consultant Joseph Dela Cruz, were present to lead the discussion of the said topics.
Tadeo and Dela Cruz were former associate editor and editor-in-chief, respectively, of Regina when they were still students of the university.
Tadeo talked about the Campus Journalist Act of 1991 and reiterated the importance of abiding by it. She also discussed the ability of students to create balance between their academics and their obligation as a campus journalist.
On the other hand, Dela Cruz told the Regina members about the importance of ethics in everything they do especially in journalism. He said that nothing is bad in trying to get the work of others as long as you give them the due credit.
On the last part of the general assembly, Regina members had their brainstorming in conceptualizing their magazine issues for the academic year.
