THE suspected leader of a criminal group engaged in gun-for-hire activities and robbery in Pampanga and Nueva Ecija provinces was arrested in his residence in Barangay Arenas, Arayat, Pampanga, over the weekend.
Senior Superintendent Nicolas Salvador, Pampanga police provincial director, identified the suspect as Omar Mallari, a resident of the said barangay.
Mallari was arrested by joint operatives of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group III, Nueva Ecija police and Pampanga Provincial Safety Company.
The arresting teams were armed with a warrant of arrest for robbery with intimidation of person issued by presiding Judge Mary Jane B. Dacara-Buenaventura of RTC Branch 43 in the City of San Fernando. The warrant is dated April 17, 2018 with P200,000 recommended bail.
Salvador said the suspect is the alleged leader of "Bulik" criminal group (unlisted CG), which is engaged in gun-for-hire and robbery in the provinces of Pampanga and Nueva Ecija.
He said the suspect is also the primary suspect in the murder of Father Richmond Nilo and subject of SITG "Nilo". (Ric Sapnu)
