LGUs provide free transportation to workers

Published on

LOCAL government units (LGUs) across Pampanga province, starting Monday, May 18, mobilized their service patrols to transport workers in their area going to City of San Fernando.

This is to aid employees in coming to work since most business establishments resumed their operations after the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) took effect over the weekend.

While the lockdown was eased, MECQ still prohibits public utility vehicles, except for tricycles, to resume operation in areas where it is implemented.

Among the LGUs that provided day-long "libreng sakay" going to this capital city are Macabebe, Candaba, San Simon, Masantol, San Luis, Sto. Tomas and Minalin.

The transportation aid will be ongoing until public transport resumes in the province, and is open for workers in the government and private sector.
