MABALACAT City officials recently distributed hogs and poultry to scores of beneficiaries as part of the city government's animal dispersal project.
Some 20 native and 15 imported hogs, and 370 chickens were given to the residents.
The project, which was spearheaded by the City Agriculture Office, is in conjunction with the livelihood program initiated by Mayor Cris Garbo to help famers and indigent constituents here.
Councilor Rogelio Yumul and City Agriculturist Noel Pineda led the ceremonial distribution of the animals recently.
The event was held at the Xevera Lot Only compound in Barangay Tabun last July 27.
Meanwhile, the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) Central Luzon has turned over a P1-million check to the city government.
The funds will be used in the city's Capability Program for Livelihood Enhancement.
Councilor Krizannel WinWin Garbo, Mabalacat City Public Market Administrator Ryan Mendiola, Public Employment and Services Officer Bernard Delos Reyes received the check in behalf of Mayor Garbo.
The funds will be used in acquiring stainless food carts which will be distributed to ambulant and street food vendors.
The project is under Dole's Integrated and Emergency Employment Program.
