THE City Health Office of Mabalacat, Pampanga recorded the city's second case of Covid-19 in Barangay Santa Ines.
The male patient is confined in a hospital nearby Angeles City and in stable condition.
The city's first Covid-19 case involved a 68-year-old male from Barangay Mabiga who sought treatment in a hospital in Magalang town on March. The patient was discharged from the hospital on March 25 after recovering from the virus.
As of April 13, Mabalacat has 162 persons under monitoring and 11 suspect persons. Some 602 probable cases already completed a 14-day mandatory quarantine, the City Health Office said.
Mayor Cris Garbo urged his constituents to stay home during the duration of the lockdown and observe social distancing to prevent the spread of the virus.
He also appealed to the people to be patient and wait for the help coming from the national and local government.
Meanwhile, the Mabalacat Public School Teachers Association (MPSTA) collected P50 from each of its members to generate funds for the procurement of relief goods.
The MPSTA, under the leadership of president Joyce Villanueva, will distribute the relief goods to the city's frontliners including doctors, nurses, policemen, barangay peacekeepers, and other volunteers.
