MABALACAT City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo has asked tricycle drivers here to obey traffic rules and use the outer lane when transporting their passengers.
The mayor relayed his message to the drivers when he recently met with some 49 presidents of the tricycle operators and drivers associations in the city.
Garbo urged the leaders of the trike drivers to help the city government in enforcing traffic rules among their members, stressing in particular the use of MacArthur Highway.
He said the local government is implementing an ordinance limiting tricycles and motorcycles to the outer lane of the road.
The local chief executive informed the association presidents about the city's traffic code and health programs.
The Mabalacat City Traffic Enforcement Group started enforcing the ordinance against tricycles using the main highway few months ago.
However, numerous drivers are still violating the traffic regulation.
