THE Mabalacat City Government is now prohibiting the convergence of people as precaution against the dreaded coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
In his memorandum dated March 12, 2020, Mayor Crisostomo Garbo directed the department head of the local government and barangay chairmen to prohibit "mass convergence of people in Mabalacat City."
"In pursuance to Republic Act 7160, Republic Act 11332, Proclamation Number 922 and Executive Order Number 66, the following activities are hereby ordered suspended in Mabalacat City due to possible spread of COVID 19," the mayor said.
Garbo enumerated the prohibited activities, including Monday flag raising ceremonies, and seminars, meetings and others events involving officials and employees of the City Government.
The mayor's directive however does not include the sessions of the City Council.
Vice Mayor Gerald Aquino said the City Council will hold its session at the city hall annex next week to prevent convergence of people inside the SP session hall in relation to the mayor's directive.
"As precaution, we set our next session at the city hall annex in Clark to minimize the convergence of people," Aquino said.
