CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Jesus Singian Lazatin (JSL) Foundation donated some 584 raincoats to Malino Integrated School esterday as part of its rainy season program for public school children.
Vice-Mayor Jimmy Lazatin said that students from pre-school to Grade 9 benefitted from the project.
The JSL Foundation had earlier spearheaded an outreach program to procure raincoats for the school children of various public schools in the City of San Fernando in time for the monsoon season.
JSL Foundation had extended an open invitation to the public to become a partner in the project.
"You can 'adopt a kid' by providing a rain coat or by contributing for the cost of a raincoat which is P80 each," the Foundation added.
A total of 297 raincoats were gathered from volunteers. Lazatin said that the project will become the springboard for more outreach programs for public schools in the city.
The recent activity was made possible through the help of JASHS Batch '78, Teofilo Laoingco, John Lester Ramos, Girlie Guarin, Merly de Leon, Mina Magtoto and Friends, Tetet de Vera, Joana Marie Vital, Odelaine Uy, Lumalan Family, Luz dela Cruz, Susan and Cathy, Gemma Mccoll, Army Navy AUF, Philip Chua and Cristina Marie Tobias-Pineda.
