Mayor cites private sector's support to Pyestang Fernandino

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- As the month-long celebration of Pyestang Fernandino culminated Wednesday, Mayor Edwin Santiago of this capital city cited the support of the private sector to the success of the annual festivity.

In his speech during the Lakan at Mutya ning San Fernando 2018 coronation night held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center Tuesday, Santiago said that the Pyestang Fernandino 2018 Executive Committee composed of socio-civic personalities from the private sector played a huge role in the joyful and meaningful celebration of Fernandinos.

"Pyestang Fernandino is not a mere celebration but is an opportunity for every Fernandino to give thanks, to showcase their talents and unite, among others, and we cannot have done it without the leadership of our ExeComm," he said.

Santiago extended his gratitude to the Pyestang Fernandino 2018 Executive Committee headed by Chairperson Robbie Hizon for their constant support and assistance to the City Government.

"This is not their job but they go out of their way to provide service for the benefit of San Fernando and Fernandinos and we are very grateful for that," he said.

The mayor also cited the support of investors and business sector in the city which provided assistance in the various programs conducted.

He said that the success of the festivity is a manifestation of the unity and coordination of all sectors of the community in the city.

"Pyestang Fernandino is indeed a time for celebration and thanksgiving and as mayor, I cannot be more thankful to everyone for joining us this year and for the many more years to come," he said.
