MAGALANG Mayor Romy Pecson has urged his townmates to continue wearing face masks and face shields even during the Christmas holidays.
Pecson said directed the local task force to enforce the mandatory use of face masks and face shields during the holiday season.
The local government stated that individuals caught violating the guidelines will be penalized --- P20,000 to P50,000 fine or imprisonment of one to six months.
Pecson said this is adherence to Ordinance Number 756 passed by the Provincial Board and approved by Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda.
This is to strictly enforce the mandatory wearing of face masks and face shields outside the residence and in public places within the province of Pampanga.
The governor likewise urged Kapampangans to regularly wash their hands, avoid places of convergence and maintain one to meters from other people.
The local government Magalang has recorded 18 cases of Covid-19 and 19 suspected cases as of December 15, 2020.
"Lagi po tayong magsuot ng face mask at face shield kung lalabas ng bahay lalo na sa darating na kapaskuhan para maiwasan natin ang pagkalat ng Covid-19 sa ating bayan," Pecson said.
