APALIT -- The local government here has yet to lift its "No Movement Day" on Sundays policy despite the easing of restrictions under general community quarantine.
Under the order, a 24-hour curfew must be observed by all residents except for work-related and indispensable activities such as the purchase of essential goods or emergency situations.
All business establishments, except pharmacies and supermarkets, are also closed during the said day to enforce the home quarantine.
Mayor Oscar "Jun" Tetangco Jr. said the local government is not taking chances in this situation as the threat of dreaded Covid-19 still lingers.
"Precaution is always better than cure. What is one day of staying at home compared to the risk of contracting the disease? Let's just stay at home and celebrate Family Day," he said.
Aside from "No Movement Sunday," the window hour on the public market is still also in place, wherein each barangay has designated day and time to purchase their goods.
"This is to limit the number of people inside the facility and outside of their homes," the mayor said.
