DESPITE the sunny weather in the past days, Kapampangans residing along the Pampanga River are now calling for help due to floodwaters caused by the continuous overflow of the river.
As of Sunday noon, November 15, 2020, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that portions of Pampanga River in Arayat and Candaba towns were already above critical level of 8.5 and 5.0 meters, respectively, while that in Apalit town was above the alert level of 3.68 meters.
Due to this, flooding along the coastal barangays of Arayat, Candaba, San Luis, San Simon, Apalit, Macabebe and Masantol have reached neck-deep and is worried to rise in the coming days as water from the upstream is expected to flow down.
Local government units advised residents to be alert on the expected continuous rise of flooding and cooperate on evacuation activities conducted in their area.
Affected residents are now asking for relief assistance as their livelihoods are also affected by the flooding.
