THE tandem of Gloria "Ninang" Ronquillo and Jhong Naguit said on Thursday, January 24, they are fully committed to observing peaceful and orderly elections in Santo Tomas, adding their leaders and supporters devoted to this commitment.
Ronquillo, a long time public servant, is running for mayor of Santo Tomas, while incumbent councilor Naguit is set to seek the vice-mayoralty post. Jhong is the brother of three-term mayor Lito Naguit.
Naguit said their campaign slate has talked to their leaders and supporters, after the signing of the peace covenant, to avoid mud-slinging and to concentrate on campaign platforms and leadership agenda in the coming campaign period.
He said their team will exercise tolerance elections.
Naguit said he will advance legislative work in the town council that will empower all sectors of the town.
He said his legislative agenda will complement that of Ronquillo's to further move the town forward in terms of programs and developments.
He said if he is given a chance to lead as vice-mayor, his work will be centered on good legislative work that is relevant and pro-active.
