IN LINE with the celebration of Women's Month, hundreds of female senior citizens will receive cash gifts from the local government of San Simon.
Mayor Abundio Punsalan Jr. said around 500 elderly women aged 80 years old and above will receive P1,000 starting next week.
"It is our small way of honoring women and at the same time paying tribute to the sacrifices and their shares to the community during their prime years and until today," he said.
Punsalan said he will go around to personally handover the cash gifts and look after the condition of the elderly.
Aside from senior citizens, the mayor said women kagawads of every barangay will also receive cash gifts from the local government.
"But with or without cash gift, we would like to let all Simonian women that we appreciate everything they do for their families, workplaces and the community," he added.
