THE University of the Assumption is hosting the second year of LibTalk: A National Conference on Reading, Research and Information Literacy with the theme, "Innovate, Influence, Inspire: Information and Access for All" from October 23 to 26.
The event is in cooperation with PLAI-CeLRLC, the Library and Information Science Academy (LIS) Academy, a division of E4E Business Ventures.
The conference aims to discuss the importance of reading among students and teachers across all disciplines; highlight the role of research in the development of intelligent readers and lifelong learners; and promote information literacy as a way of life.
The talks include various topics from understanding millennials, research and information technology. Speakers include professors, research experts, librarians and media practitioners.
Professor Roilingel Calilung, director of the University of the Assumption Cinense Library, said the activity is part of the #55LibraryActivities under the #UAFive55Projects in celebration of the university's 55th founding anniversary.
