Published on

BEING the presiding officer of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Mabalacat City, incumbent City Vice Mayor Christian C. Halili and members of the local legislative body have accomplished more in 2018 and are predisposed to produce more relevant ordinances and resolutions in 2019.

Christian has obviously shepherded his colleagues well and have worked with them in admirable harmony, thus some of them are ripe for reelection.

It is the brand of leadership that Christian has shown which encourages,

and inspires, councilors to seek another mandate apparently to

continue on more legislative landmarks.

In his submission of his office's Annual Accomplishment Report for 2018, Christian premised it thus: Consistent with the national government policy calling all government instrumentalities for transparency and accountability, I am submitting the annual accomplishment report of the Sangguniang Panlungsod and Office of the City Vice Mayor for the year ending December 31, 2018.

It cited that the body has passed 175 resolutions and 13 ordinances which included the budget appropriation for the year 2019. These had made substantial impact on the city's much-improved services to the constituency.

The report mentioned the important resolutions and ordinances passed: a) City Ordinance No. 7-an ordinance adopting the zoning regulations of Mabalacat City; b) Ordinance No. 72, approving the revised Gender and Development Code; c) Ordinance No. 74, amending the plantilla positions of the city government of Mabalacat in the organization structure and staffing pattern of the LGU; d) Ordinance No. 79, granting service benefits/incentives to all elected barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials in Mabalacat City.

It also mentioned that the SP had continuously supported the local chief executive's various plans, programs and activities by giving authority to the mayor to enter into various memoranda of agreement with public and private entities.

Christian made sure that in his dual role as Vice Mayor and Presiding

Officer of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, he continued to work closely and harmoniously with the local chief executive in order to promote the economic and social wellbeing of the people of Mabalacat City. Together with the SP members, he made sure he was bound by the commitment to serve the best interest of Mabalacat City.

After being heir apparent to the post of former mayor Boking Morales, it is time Christian became the next city mayor.
