

MAASIN City Mayor Nacional Mercado has thanked the people of South Korea for 100 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) donated to the city through the National Government to help prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
The PPEs are used by the 30 garbage collection personnel and another 10 from the wet market, Mercado said.
Aside from the PPEs, the City Government also received some bottles of alcohol and disposable masks and gloves.
According to Mercado, the garbage collectors, who are considered as frontliners, each received two sets of PPEs.
On Wednesday, April 15, Mercado also thanked Coca-Cola for 200 dozens of soda it donated to the city, as well as lawyer Miguelito Lao and family for their P50,000 cash assistance to the city's anti-Covid-19 efforts. (VoxPop Philippines)
