

A TOTAL of 906,576 or 96.05 percent out of 935,070 available doses received by the Department of Health (DOH) in Eastern Visayas have been distributed across the region, the department announced Saturday, August 14, 2021.
Of the said number, a total of 731,110 doses have been administered.
"The government's intensified vaccination drive is continually in action as the vaccine inoculation for priority groups A1 to A3 is still ongoing, both for their first and second doses, respectively," it said.
The regional health department said 485,930 or 90.87 percent of the 534,778 allocated first doses have already been administered.
A total of 61.25 percent of the second doses have already been administered, equating to 245,180 administered doses, it added.
The target population for A1 or the frontline health workers has also met the 100-percent coverage rate.
While 36.11 percent for A2 or senior citizens, 56.12 percent for A3 or adults with comorbidities, and 14.17 percent for A4 or the economic frontliners.
The regional health department reminded the public to coordinate with their respective local government units for vaccine registration following the government's prioritization framework.
As of Sunday, August 15, Eastern Visayas, with a total population of 4,547,150, already recorded 38,421 total number of Covid-19 cases, with 36,737 (95.62 percent) total number of recoveries and 435 (1.13 percent) total number of deaths.
The total active Covid-19 cases in the region was now at 1,249 (3.25 percent). (VoxPop Philippines)
