3 arrested in manhunt operations

THREE persons, including a minor, were arrested in separate manhunt operations in the Zamboanga Peninsula, the police said Saturday.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified them as Beinvenido Quijardo, 29; Divina Buton, 40; and, Genrey Cadorna, 17.

Galvez said Quijardo was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Friday at the public market of Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Galvez said Quijardo has standing warrants of arrest for the crimes of arson and murder with no recommended bail.

Galvez said that Buton was arrested around 9 a.m. Friday in the village of Lower Panikian, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur.

She said Buton was arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest for the crime of estafa with recommended bail of P80,000 issued by the court of Pagadian City.

She said Cadorna was arrested around 5 p.m. Friday in the village of Talisay, Dapitan City.

She said Cadorna has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of "other light threats with P120,000 recommended bail issued by the court in Dipolog City.

She said Cadorna was turned over to the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) since he is a minor.
