ZAMBOANGA City Hall is setting up a Quick Response Desk (QRD) at the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) to resolve all pending business permit applications in this city.
Mayor Maria Isablle Climaco-Salazar ordered the setting up of the QRD in response to the clamor of the business sector to hasten the processing of business permit applications.
Salazar said the QRD will function from Mondays to Fridays from July 30 to August 17, this year.
She said the QRD will be manned by focal persons from at least four offices--City Mayor's Office-BPLO, City Planning and Development Coordinator, City Treasurer and the Bureau of Fire Protection.
BPLO chief Benjie Barredo said a total of 7,430 business permits have been issued from January to July 23 with 4,936 pending applications based on records from his office.
Barredo said that of the total permits issued 6,999 are renewal permits and 431 are new permits. (VoxPop Philippines)
