Government employee nabbed in anti-drug operation

A GOVERNMENT employee was arrested in an anti-drug operation in Isabela City, the capital of Basilan province, a top police official said on Sunday, November 25.

Superintendent Gilzen Niño Manese, Isabela City police chief, identified the arrested suspect as Jose Clemente Aguja, 46, an administrative assistance of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Police tagged Aguja as high-value target level one drug personality.

Manese said Aguja was arrested in a drug bust around 10:45 p.m. Friday, November 23, at Purok 2 in the village of Sunrise, Isabela City.

Manese said the arresting team recovered from Aguja three heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (methampethamine hydrochloride), P500 marked money, and illegall drug paraphernalia.

He said that appropriate charges are set to be filed against Aguja, who was detained. (VoxPop Philippines)
