OVER 400-family fire victims in the village of Labuan, will have a house of their own to be constructed by the National Housing Authority (NHA) in coordination with the Housing and Urban Development Coordination Council (HUDCC).
NHA General Manager Marcelino Escalada, Jr. said they will build 404 loftable houses with 33 square meters floor area each for the fire victims in the village of Barangay Labuan.
The fire, which occurred on July 22 have, razed 404 houses mostly made of light materials at Purok 5 in the village of Labuan, 36 kilometers west of this city.
Escalada said they will need at least P280 million to build the houses in a 1.8 hectares lot of the city government in the village of Labuan.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has approved the use of the lot, which is near Purok 5 in Labuan.
Escalada said they would acquire a 3.6-hectare lot to serve as an additional relocation site for the fire victims in Labuan.
Escalada and HUDCC Chairperson Eduardo Del Rosario recently with Salazar and other officials at City Hall.
The visit here of Escalada and Del Rosario was in response to the order of President Rodrigo Duterte, to look into the plight of the Labuan fire victims.
