THE two detainees who escaped from police custody were captured one after the other in a manhunt operation in Zamboanga del Norte, an official said Monday, July 02, 2018.
Alfin Omar, 18 and Willboy Pedi, 19, who are facing theft charges, were recaptured separately on Sunday in Tampilisan town.
Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said Omar was recaptured around 6 a.m. Sunday by joined police, military and watchmen in Situbo village, Tampilisan.
Galvez said Omar was taken to a hospital for medication since he sustained injuries after resisting when cornered by the lawmen.
She said that Pedi was arrested around 7 a.m. Sunday also in the village Situbo.
Omar and Pedi escaped around 7:10 p.m. on Friday by destroying the detention cell's welded round bar of the police station in Tampilisan. (VoxPop Philippines)
